Energy Tax Credit
Be rewarded and save when you buy DOR-WIN's energy efficient windows. Replace your old windows with qualifying DOR-WIN windows that may be eligible for a tax credit of 30% of the product cost up to $1500 on your federal on your federal income tax. As part of the Economic Stimulus package, The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 extends federal tax credits eligible building components that improve energy efficiency. To be eligible, windows, doors & skylights must have both a U-Factor equal to or less than 0.30 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficeint (SHGC) equal to or less than 0.30.
How to qualify for the Energy Tax Credit:
- Purchase a qualifying Dor-Win windows that meet a 0.30 U-value and 0.30 SHGC or below.
- Save the sales receipt along with the NFRC labels from each product with your tax documents.
- The qualified Dor-Win products must be installed in your principal owned residence between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010 and meet all other requirements outline in the federal code.
Note: Credit only applies on qualified product and does not include installation, assembly, accessories, or tax.
- Claim the tax credit associated with your qualifying purchase on youre Federal filing for the 2009 and/or 2010 tax year.
2009 / 2010 Federal Energy Tax Credit Details * Tax credit applies to "qualified energy efficient improvements" which include exterior windows, doors & skylights for the taxpayer's primary residence in the Unites States. * Tax credit is for the cost of the product only & does not include installation costs. Be sure to ask for a sales receipt that shows the cost of the product only. * Tax credit is 30% of the amount paid for the product up to a maximum of $ 1,500 combined for 2009 and 2010 (including other eligble items listed in the IRS notice).
DOR-WIN's products with special Low E glass package (9900 Series DH & 700 Series Casment) will qualify when used for remodeling, replacement or home improvement. Please consult your tax planner and review IRS guidelines on how to claim/qualify for tax credit. DOR-WIN is not a tax advisor.
